Introduction, resume of previous meetings

IVOA & workflows : feedback

• workflow work is in standby, first studies involving Taverna has been made, ESO is using Taverna in the frame of REFLEX (see previous meetings resumes)

The use cases status

• the definition of workflow use cases was useful to start the work around workflows, it is now time to go further and to execute for example the workflows on a grid
• new use cases are still welcome

Vahiné project & Workflow (L. Léau-Mercier)

• Ludovic works on the VAHINE (Visualization and analysis of multi-dimensional hyperspectral images) project

• Ludovic is interested by AIDA and would like to experiment it

Workflow tools : demo of AIDA 2.0 (UWS, Characterization, VOSpace, PLASTIC) (C. Pestel)

• Cyril made us a full demo of AIDA 2.0
• new user interface with a use of UWS to manage asynchronous jobs
• new server side which is now very easy to implement
• interaction with a VOSpace
• interaction with other VO tools through PLASTIC
• a few people from IVOA are interested by this tool which was developed as a test bed for workflow use cases and standard implementation test

Workflow and Grid

• In a first step, 2 working groups were created in the frame of VO France, in the future there will be a very close interaction between the 2 WG (the use of workflows is very common with grids)
• An EGEE tutorial is organised in Meudon from 10 to 12 December 2008 and a part of the it is dedicated to the use of P-Grade which is a tool allowing the design and the execution of worklows on EGEE

Discussions, next steps (AO2009, etc.)

• continuation of the work in 2009
• a meeting will be organised in January 2009 with Johan Montagnat about the execution of image workflows on EGEE
